ANNOUNCE : Gtk-- 1.2pre1 is released

Gtk-- 1.2pre1
--------------
Gtk-- is a C++ interface for the popular GUI library gtk. Gtk--
provides convenient interface for C++ programmers to create graphical
user interfaces with gtk`s flexible OO framework. Highlights include
typesafe callbacks, extensible widgets using standard C++ inheritance,
and tight integration with the STL.

Gtk-- is free software distributed under GNU Library General Public
License (LGPL).

This version is the first candidate for 1.2 "stable". It should be
used for any new development using Gtk--, and for old ones too,
because, really, that dubious smell coming out of you /usr/local/lib
dir is in fact from Gtk-- 1.0.2.

Most notable changes are

- Gnome-- has been split away to a seperate package (which will also
soon reach some kind of stability)

- we have a Win32 port (currently alpha), contributed by Hanee
  Patenaude.

- awesome work has been accomplished on the tutorial by Michael "Data"
Ashton. This is probably the most important contribution to Gtk-- in
a long time : a developer with a nickname from Star Trek TNG.

The Gtk-- team would like to especially thank Hanee Patenaude and
Michael Ashton for their work and help.
