As the person who filed the original bug on Bugzilla and who experienced the problem with the Dectalk first hand last Friday, I can tell you that powering the Dectalk off and on again did not fix the problem for me. Once I turned it on again, Speakup refused to recognize that I had a Dectalk on the serial port at all. This is what lead me to file the bug in the first place.<smile>
