Yes.

You will need to use at-spi to control the program;  gnopernicus, gok 
and dasher are examples of programs which use at-spi.

Cliicking on a button is invvokiingg an action; see AccessiibleAction 
functions. Entering teext will use AccessibleText functtioions.
