Compiling Gnopernicus under Debian unstable

I regret joining the chorus of people inquiring about compilation
problems, but...
Two questions:
1. Has anyone here successfully built Gnopernicus under Debian
Unstable (preferably relatively recently)? This is the latest code
from cvs.
2. Which Debian package contains glib-gettext 2.2 or later, and the
corresponding M4 macros?
