There are plenty of mp3 players for X, for instance xmms and mplayer,
gtv too I think.

However there are some licensing issues so many distrubutors are
reluctant to bundle the mp3 players, and GNOME doesn't bundle them in
its "standard" packages.

A google search or rpmfind search probably will turn up dozens.
