At least the CVS version of atk allows both libtool versions 1.4 *or* 
1.5. However, the error message it spits out only refers to version 1.4
(I'll file a quick patch in bugzilla for that momentarily).

So, to get further on this, what version of atk are you trying to build
(or are you using the CVS version via jhbuild or something similar)? And
what is the output of "libtoolize --version" on your system?
