problem with pkgconfig

Installed garnome in my home directory. chaged the go_gnome script. Tried to
configure gnopernicus. got an error about libgnome-2.0 not being found nad
changing my pkgconfig environment variable so it could be found. there is a
libgnome-2.0
entry in ~/home/garnome/lib/pkgconfig for libgnome-2.0.pc. do I have to change
something in the gnopernicus files as well as the go_gnome script or what is
going on here?
