The way I get gnome-speech and gnopernicus is via cvs to
anonymous anoncvs gnome org  If you're using bash you might:

export CVSROOT='\'':pserver:anonymous anoncvs gnome org:/cvs/gnome'\''
cvs -z3 co gnome-speech
cvs -z3 co gnopernicus
