Re: [g-a-devel]gnome-speech problem



Rob, excuse me if these questions are elementary, but hopefully they'll 
help us track this down:

1. Did you do a 'make install'?
2. If so, where did the GNOME_Speech_*.server files go?  the standard 
prefix for these is $(prefix)/lib/bonobo/servers.

There are no magical variables, ViaVoice should be detected by the 
configure stage, and Festival is built regardless of whether it's 
installed or not.  No servers listed in test-speech means that 
bonobo-activation is not finding the .server files, which describe where 
the executeables which are the actual speech synthesis drivers are 
installed.

Hope these are helpful starting points.
