Padraig,
This is exactly what I needed -- Thanks Padraig! (I am finding it
difficult to keep on top of all the updates -- I shall likely spend more
time reading this lists messages from now on)
I had already added an .orbitrc file with the latter "ORBIIOPIPv4=1" as
per some documentation I had read yesterday, what does the other line
"ORBIIOPUNIX=0" do?
I installed ORBit2 (and linc) from head, added the "ORBIIOPUNIX=0" line
and restarted my session. I am now able to see the excrutiating slowness
whenever gok interrogates staroffice. Hopefully I can improve this
situation soon.
cheers,
David

David,
Is ORBit2 from head?
Michael Meeks fixed a bug on Friday which prevented java applications working
with accessibility.
If so, do you have a file .orbitrc in your home directory containing
ORBIIOPUNIX=0
ORBIIOPIPv4=1
If not, create it, kill bonobo-activation-server and at-spi-registryd processes.
Padraig
I'm trying to set up openoffice so that I can test it with gok. Below is
my shell output when I run soffice. I can't tell from the output
whether it is working or not. GOK does not see it. Any help appreciated...
