User visible changes should be:
1) Text Anti-aliasing

2) Faster in a number of respect (if some of the g_object code was 
fixed) (imlib dropped, etc.)

3) accessibility features (key navigation, arabic and hebrew support) 
(how sad is that that I have to type this last bit in a computer program

4) Some new applications (like fontcarton, font viewer, which hasn't 
been released for 1.4 just yet). Anders is working on a port to 2.0 as 
well as a Nautilus "commit your stuff now or I make you look bad in 
front of all the people" view ;).

BTW, I can't believe nobody ever said "we should do a font viewer". It 
took me a couple of hours putting something decent together because I 
needed to clean up my fonts directory.
