  libxml2-2.4.10 shipped last Saturday with an API addition, 

xmlChar * xmlGetNodePath(xmlNodePtr node),

  which was requested by non-Gnome users to build XPath or XPointer
paths pointing to a node.
  No API change, but an addition.
