I am resigning as release coordinator in September

Hi guys,

tomorrow you can read the "official" version of this in the minutes
of yesterday's board meeting, but I wanted to write you guys a little
bit longer explanation before you'll read it in the press.

Yesterday, I asked the board of directors to find another GNOME 2
release coordinator since I want to step down from it in september.

I am very sorry about this as I enjoyed it a lot to hack on GNOME 2
and to work in such a good team - but I'm now finally following the
good advice from my friends that real live and especially university
is more important than hacking on GNOME.

This week is the first week of my summer holidays at the university,
so I won't have class for the next three months - and normally I should
spend this time to learn for the pre-diploma. However, since I need to
pay for my studies myself, I will continue hacking almost full-time
until Sep 15th - this'll give me the freedom to concentrate entirely
on learning for the three months which it normally takes to get the
pre-diploma.

So, I'm not immediately gone now - but of course we need to look for a
new release coordinator right now rather than shortly before I'm leaving.
And whoever this is, I'll happily be the third person in the team and
help you guys with whatever you need until I'm finally gone.

After Sept 15th, I will make one week of holidays and then spend the
next three months with learning. I will be more or less away during this
time - maybe reading my mail once a week or hanging around in IRC a few
hours - but clearly I won't have enough time to keep up to date with
GNOME or to hack anything.

This sucks a lot, but I need to do this anytime and I'm already three
years behind :-(
