Yes, this is a known problem. It's fixed in CVS. If you have the
cvs client program, you can do the following:

export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous anoncvs gnome org:/cvs/gnome
cvs login
(blank password)
cvs -z3 co glade--

then you will have the latest source in the glade-- subdirectory.
