Hello,

gedit is terrific! One of the best GUI editors for X11. The multiple
language support is good and the UI is simple and clean.

However, there are some things I miss in it that are present in that other
excellent GUI editor: NEdit. These would help make gedit not just one of the
best but indeed *the* best GUI editor for X11:

* rectangular cut & paste.
* easy macro learning mode.
* goto matching ().
* lower-case/upper-case.
* ability to invoke shell commands.
