[gedit-list] Gedit over gnome-vfs sftp:// opens all files readonly?

Hi there,

I'm trying to access some files over the gnome-vfs sftp:// protocol, and 
I can open and read the files, but they're all opened readonly (RO)... I 
can create files and folders in Nautilus in a directory opened thru 
sftp, but I cannot save my files for Gedit...

I this intented, a known-bug, a hidden configuration options or am I 
off-topic and is this a Gnome/Nautilus bug?

(I'm using Fedora Core 2 with associated versions...)
