I like Gedit *a lot* and I don't want to offend you, but saying Gedit
has more features than vi(m) is simply wrong. When it comes to down to
text editing, vim might have more features available than any other
editor. I don't think it's Gedit's goal to achieve this, though. AFAIK
Gedit's goal is mostly user-friendliness, in which in exceeds vim by
far.
Of course gedit will work for editing configurations files, but learning
vi or at least another non-graphical editor will most certainly be worth
your time, Dritan. Knowing a console editor can be useful when you have
the fix the graphical interface, and knowing vim or emacs can be
extremely useful for the features they offer.
Not trying to start a flame war though - just trying to "set the record
straight" about the "more features" thing, so to speak.
