[gdome]data validation while building DOM tree

Hi,

Does gdome validate, for example, names to make sure they don't contain
any characters that XML spec don't allow ? Also, does it perform
necessary substitution such as '&' to '&amp;' in the data ?

If not now, is there a plan to do them ?
