I'm having the same problem since upgrading Fedora Core 4 with GDM 2.10 
to Fedora Core 5 with 2.14, and I've filed an issue.  However, I haven't 
yet figured out whether I'm having two issues together: one issue for 
the login failing and the syslog message and another theme issue for the 
incorrect display.
