how to change graphical greeter login prompts

Hi!

I have a newbie problem with configuring gdm.

I'm on Fedora Core 2, and use the gdm graphical greeter.
At login, when a user clicks on their face, they see the message
"Double click on username to login". This is confusing:

a) where are you supposed to doubleclick?
(your name is written on the screen in three places, at this stage)

b) you have to DOUBLE-click TWICE on the face, before you are
asked for your password

c) it is easier to click once in the dialogue box, where your name has
already appeared since you already clicked on the user picture, then hit
the Enter key, and then proceed to type your password.

I have been looking in the gdm directories for the messages, to see if I
can change the message myself, but I can't find it.

So here's my question: is there an easy way that I can change the
messages which appear when you log in using the graphical greeter? Where
are they? And where is the code which handles this dialogue? (so I can
maybe
see what is supposed to happen).

I would like to get my family members also to use linux, but they
get pissed off at the login stage already, when things do not happen in a
logical way [they are already angry that it is different from linux,
and being illogical too, is the last straw].

Yours
