[gDesklets] Converting sensors to controls

There are a couple of desklets i normally use,
Verse of the day (aka bible-desklet) - which doesn't work at all
Good weather  - Which does work still but not sure for how long.

Neither are on the gdesklet site now and are only found on the unofficial archive.

I've so far only had a brief flick though the developers doc's and it seems like it
wouldn't be too hard to convert the sensor files to controls but was wondering if
anyones working on those desklets and if there is any documentation specific to
making old desklets compatible again, i've done some python work in the past but not
with gdesklets so any help would be good, if no ones working on those desklets i'll
probably work though the tutorials on the developers manual and try and figure it out
myself.

I hope it is mainly changing how arguments are sent back and forth and a few changes
to the init leaving the majority of the code as it is. But any guides and advice
would be appreciated.
