"Permission Denied" issues

I'm trying to use gconf over a NCP (Netware) file system. Below in the
syslog it complains about permissions, but if I go into the .gconf
directory I can move the same files that it is complaining about. This
could very well be a NCPFS problem, but if anybody has possible
insights, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, I've disabled locks (just in case, since NCP doesn't support it).

Relevant info:

gconf version: 2.6.4

ps output: 1 4566 4503 4503 ? -1 S 2000
0:01 /usr/lib/gconf2/gconfd-2 5

syslog:

Oct 27 12:05:39 Morphix gconfd (jayc-4566): Could not move aside old
saved state file '/home/jayc/.gconfd/saved_state': Permission denied
Oct 27 12:05:44 Morphix gconfd (jayc-4566): Failed to write

gconf-sanity-check-2: nothing

OS: Debian (Testing)

Thank you!
