gconf problem

Hi, When I tried to log back to in my redhat 9.0 linux machine, there was a problem with gconf. I can still login in the X environment as root but not as user X (normal user).

I think that the problem came from the fact that I accessed the account from X as a root and change the rights on all the files.

Reading the infos I couldn't fix my problem so decided to put this message. Here are some infos. Thanks. (I also posted this message in the nautilisu mailing list. Sorry!)

The directory .gconfd only contains saved_state.

GConf-1.0.9-10

gconfd-2 not installed

returns nothing

returns nothing

         does not exist

Redhat 9.0 kernet 2.4.20-8

When I log in, there is a black screen with some error messages I cannot see. To see them I login in in text mode and lauch gcdconf-1 and login in X mode and then I saw:

An error occurred while loading or savinf configuration information for gnome-session. Some of your configuration settings maynot work properly.

Configuration server couldn't be contacted: CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA BAD_OPERATION:1.0
