Thnaks, I think the feature is reasonable. My main comment here is
that if we're introducing a configuration file, I'd like it to be in a
better-defined format than the path file - pseudo-XML parsed with
GMarkup is probably easiest. If you look at the dbus configuration
file format (www.freedesktop.org/software/dbus/) that's about right I
think.
If we're going to do a short term easy patch rather than set up a
full-scale config file, I'd probably go with just an environment variable.
