I want to join GNOME

Hi all,
Since the GNOME page mentions that one must introduce oneself to the
others via the mailing list, here it is
Manish Chakravarty	
Age: 22
Location: Bangalore, India
Education: Currently in final year computer engineering
Distro: Ubuntu Breezy
Skills: C/C++
Tools: FLuent with Glade/GTK (with libglade and C)
I want to work as a GNOME developer and contribute.
The only thing i expect in return is some guidance on how to get started
(ie how to get the entire GNOME code from CVS and how to compile it etc)
Please help a hacker join the community
