I don't know if you understood. 
But I don't need to add -DLDAP_DEPRECATED=1 into the makefile. 

checking ldap.h usability... yes 
checking ldap.h presence... yes 
checking for ldap.h... yes 
checking for ldap_open in -lldap... yes 

I'm just compiling the original pwlib from garnome tar ball.
