GARNOME 2.8.3 ============= (the 'one.last.gasp.hurrah' release.) The latest 'somewhat toned down' version of GARNOME distribution for those who want a new version of GNOME for regular day-to-day use, but don't want to wait until your distribution catches up, is now out and about. This release incorporates the GNOME 2.8.3 Desktop & Developer Platform, as well as plenty of stability fixes designed to keep the average users desktop stable and speedy. Highlights of this release include: * Improved Solaris/AIX support within gar.conf.mk (changing md5sum to use your tools is now supported) * several backported fixes from the 2.9 branch * an updated mozilla with extra crasher fixes not seen in the upstream release. Unless anything major happens, this will be the last release of the 2.8.x series of GARNOME -- work continues apace on the impending 2.10.0 release branch, which will become the new stable series relatively soon.
