XFree86 4.x test: revisited
----------------------------
* updated from CVS: cairo & libpixman
- cairo update included patch referenced below
- no changes to libpixman
* install pango-1.9.0
- build pango-1.9.0
- uninstall pango-1.8.1
- install pango-1.9.0
* install GTK+-2.7.0
- build gtk+-2.7.0
- uninstall gtk+-2.6.8
- install gtk+-2.7.0
* log out completely
[I use command line login: init = 3
* login / startx
==> desktop weirdness
* multiple images on desktop
* color map is broken
- gray background is now light purple
- background color selector shows the correct color.
something is amiss with whatever sets the background color
Conclusion:
* Upgrading cairo alone is not sufficient to run GTK+-2.7.0 under
Xfree-4.x.
