Robert,

You have a version of cairo installed somewhere in your search path.

The configure file for gst-plugins does not appear to check the version
level of cairo, which is strange.  Hmmm... Wonder what version is
required?

I know that I built gst-plugins-0.8.8 with cairo-0.4 & libpixmap-0.1.4
and had no problems.
