OK, that's a bug.

It seems our tweaking of libtool and pkgconfig isn't enough to work
around the brain damage that is included in the earlier versions of
DBus.

I found the same problem myself yesterday while test building the
snapshot, and am currently working on a solution.

Works fine on Warty and I don't have a Breezy box to test it on.

Personally, I wouldn't go messing around installing extra bits from
freedesktop (or breezy) until we find out exactly why the problem
exists.
