Re: [Bug 313419] control center 2.11.91 won't compile using gcc-4.0.1 with gtk+-2.7.5]

Dear Joseph,

Compiling with gtk+-2.8.0 solved the issue. I'll now work on the next issue with libcamel :-(

Cheers,

Stef

Stef,

run:

	nm libglib-2.0.so > nm.out

and then examine the output, nm.out, for the two errant functions. If
they are not found, something is amiss.

Hi Jospeph,

I'll give gtk+-2.8.0 a try. I hadn't noticed that it was released. I'll give you an update on it working or not.

Cheers,

Stef

I have installed both gtk+-2.8.0 and glib-2.8.0.

The two functions in question:
      g_get_host_name
      g_mapped_file_new

referenced in
      libgtk-x11-2.0.so
and are defined in
      libglib-2.0.so

Dear Gents,

Does anybody hit this same issue as found in the bug mentioned above. I've upgraded to glib-2.8.0 and cleanup my distro to have no other glib-2.0 stuff lying around causing issues. I still do have the issue and I'm not sure anymore how I could have a sting at this baby.

Cheers,

Stef

That's not a GNOME bug, updating your glib will fix the issue.
