updates and comments on garnome 2.8.0

Dear Paul,

First of all I would like to thank you for a great new release :-)))

I have completed building most of the 2.8.0 release and found a few minor issues. I have assorted them per folder. The 2.8.0 was very smooth with only a few minor issues.

bindings

on libsigc++ I had to downgrade as the current release doesn't like gcc-3.4.x and 3.3.x. There is a bug report out there to fix the issue. I hope they soon issue a 2.0.6 to fix the problem :-)

Screem: To get this package compiled I had to upgrade to 0.11.5 as the current stable version doesn't like the new libcroco versioning schema in pkgconfig

Updates on desktop

For nautilus I still needed the patch that is found on the bugzilla site. Without this patch I coulden't compile nautilus 2.8.0. The patch still applies clean. the bugzilla site: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=30302&action=view

for ephipiphany I had to upgrade to version 1.8a3 and add this patch FreeType-2.1.9.patch as found on this page: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=234035

for gnome-volume-manager I have added a dependancy for bootstrap/dbus and boostrap/hal to get the compiled

Fifth-toe

I saw that a new release of xine-lib was released recently. This release is called 1-rc6a and solved a number of bugs. It compiled fine so you might wan't to include it in the next release.

Gaim compiles fine once more. I have no clue what caused the eggcellrender keys bug to reappear. Probably murpheys law popping up while you are trying to finishup testing quickly. It was upgraded to version 1.0.0 last night.

Cheers,

Stef
