libxklavier failed in garnome 2.8

Configure in libxklavier failed with "/X11/xkb/ does not denote a
directory". this is of course correct.
changing the gar makefile to have config args set to --with-xkb-
base=/usr/X11/lib/X11/xkb made the problem go away.
This a very hacked up slackware 9.1 install
