Please, don't just reply to all unless you checked all recipients and
don't cross-post, unless you have a reason to. Did you really intend
your question to be posted to gnome-announce?

libgnomeprint does not necessarily depend on libgnomecups -- only, if
you are using CUPS, IIRC. Thus, as it isn't always a dependency and
aslibgnomecups isn't part of the official GNOME 2.8 D&DP, the dependency
should not be hard coded into the Makefiles.
Granted, most folks seem to trip on this issue...
