Well, that looks good. Is your LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to check in
/opt/garnome/lib first?

/opt/garnome/bin/pkgconfig looks for *.pc files in
/opt/garnome/lib/pkgconfig

If you have another pkgconfig installed and your path is not set to
first look in /opt/garnome/bin then configure would use the wrong
pkgconfig.
