Thank you!  That worked.  Now I get a bunch of compile errors that look
like this:

/usr/lib/libldap.a(os-ip.o)(.text+0x41f): In function
`ldap_pvt_is_socket_ready':
: `sys_errlist' is deprecated; use `strerror' or `strerror_r' instead
/usr/lib/libldap.a(os-ip.o)(.text+0x415): In function
`ldap_pvt_is_socket_ready':
: `sys_nerr' is deprecated; use `strerror' or `strerror_r' instead
/usr/lib/libldap.a(cyrus.o)(.text+0x4f): In function
`ldap_int_sasl_init':
: undefined reference to `sasl_set_alloc'
