If you try this site instead of the current site you should have more 
luck "MASTER_SITES += http://mono2.ximian.com/archive/1.0.1/"; as found 
in mono.category.mk

I've updated mono to version 1.0.1 if you are still downloading the 
older versions of mono you will need to use beta3 instead of 1.0.1 in 
the path
