mozilla-gtkmozembed not found

ok, after 3 verrrrry long hours of this thing going on
n on n on n on (and some packages being not found, and
installed by me), i get this error -

checking for mozilla-gtkmozembed... Package
mozilla-gtkmozembed was not found in the pkg-config
search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing
`mozilla-gtkmozembed.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'mozilla-gtkmozembed' found

configure: error: Library requirements
(mozilla-gtkmozembed) not met; consider adjusting the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries
are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find
them.

loooked around, no such thing out there. then i saw
this guys' post
(http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-list/2002-October/msg00173.html)which
said i should apply some patch to epiphany to get this
going - but no clue as to what or where it is.

and that above post was from oct.2002 - one woulda
thought it wouldn't crop up now ...

and since, i didnt see this particular error on this
mailing-list, i thought i would ask y'all for your
help.

what's to be done?

thanks in advance.

[im on debian sid - if there is any info you would
like about the machine ... lemme know.]
