Same thing here; looks like freedesktop.org has moved around some
files.  eg. looks for:

http//pdx.freedesktop.org/~fontconfig/release/xrender-0.8.3.tar.gz

but this is now at

http://freedesktop.org/~xlibs/release/xrender-0.8.3.tar.gz

I downloaded this and put it in my GARCHIVE dir (look in gar.conf.mk for
this) and got one step closer to building the whole thing ... now I need
render-0.8.tar.gz.  Guessing that all the files are there somewhere, but
until someone updates the locations do we download manually?

PS. This is the first time I've tried Garnome ... hello everyone!
