Re: Trouble getting expat to compile

Hi Sam,

The idea solved the issue. I just did make clean configure and make in the expat folder. This solved the issue. I've got no clue how to edit the dependency file :-(

Thanks for your help

Dear All.

I've tried getting garnome 0.24.2 to work but for some akward reason It stops compilation with this error :

==> Running make in work/main.d/expat-1.95.6
xmlwf/xmlwf.c: In function `showVersion':
xmlwf/xmlwf.c:602: syntax error before '*' token
xmlwf/xmlwf.c:613: `features' undeclared (first use in this function)
xmlwf/xmlwf.c:613: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
xmlwf/xmlwf.c:613: for each function it appears in.)
xmlwf/xmlwf.c:613: `XML_FEATURE_END' undeclared (first use in this function)
make[7]: *** [xmlwf/xmlwf.o] Error 1
make[6]: *** [build-work/main.d/expat-1.95.6/Makefile] Error 2

I've downloaded the software from sourceforge and compiled the stock version without a hitch. Can somebody help me solve this issue.

Just don't build it, if you have expat installed (which you probably do)
just remove the expat dependency from fontconfig. Jeff told me this on
IRC the other day, and things finished compiling without this installed.

Thanks in advance,

Stef

No problem
