I have everything compiled and installed for garnome 0.22, luckily I still have my 0.20 build in a seperate directory, because when I tried to start my 0.22 build everything seemed to start ok, but there is no text anywhere in menus there are just icons and in selection areas there is just white blank spaces... I am running RH 7.3, anyone have any suggestion as to what to try?
Thanks
Toby.
The best is to try to move (at least temporarily) ~/.gnome out of the way:
mv ~/.gnome2 ~/.gnome2-was-ok
Even better is to try to run GNOME as some other user (with clean
installation). If it works for "clean" user, then there might be some
incompatibilities between your old (pre 2.2.0) and new (2.2.1) GNOME.
Also, try removing your .fonts.cache-1 file (in your home directory),
because the format is a bit changed since Garnome 0.21.0.
Hope this helps,
Danilo
