Sorry for the late answer

I had such a problem with gstreamer. My system was a rh72.
gcc 3.2.2 do not fix it, I tried.
I think it comes from Hermes and  its x86 cpu init for using mmx
I upgraded Hermes and SDL with recent packages and the problem vanished
