Compiling Rhythmbox for 0.20.0

Hi. I have Garnome 0.20.0 and have run into a problem compiling Rhythmbox (I've already compiled gstreamer). More specifically, I think my errors are coming from compiling the monkey-media package. I receive an error stating that ...

Package gstreamer was not found in the pkg_config search path. Maybe you should add the directory containing 'gstreamer.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable. No package gstreamer found.

I searched for 'gstreamer.pc' and found it, but I am stumped about the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable. Any help would be most appreciated.
