If you can get me past my problem, I may see your problem!

I had errors with pkg-config not finding gstreamer.pc.  I looked in the
etc/pkgconfig and found that there were only gstreamer-0.5* files so I
symlinked to non-versioned names.

That didn't work though.

Do you have video 4 linux in your kernel?
