notification-area-applet seg faults

I have compiled the latest garnome 0.21.2 on Debian
Woody and everything seems to work fine except when I
logout of gnome or remove the applet the
notificatio-area-applet crashes giving the following
message:

Application "notification-area-applet" (process 32027)
has crashed
due to a fatal error.
(Segmentation fault)

Has anybody else encountered this problem? is it a
bug? is there a way to fix this?
