gnome-vfs initoolize error (rh9)

Hi, I'm new.
In the initial setup, make install would fail on initoolize not found (extract 
error) for gnome-vfs-extras. I'm not sure why it worked, but I deleted the 
tar/gz/bz2 files (29 bytes each) from the ../$home/gnome/gnome-vsf-extras/ 
subdirs - and now it's installing the whole she-bang

(newbies...sheesh!)
