Redhat 9.0 - Garnome 0.25.1 Compile Error

I have a Redhat 9.0 machine running Ximian Desktop and have downloaded 
GARNOME 0.25.1.

I ran `make install` in the garnome-0.25.1/meta/gnome-desktop 
directory.  It ran for quite a long time until it finally got to this 
error.

I have to admit I don't know much about this stuff, and wondered if 
anyone could lend me a hand.  I checked to make sure that the 
im-gnucharmap.so file was in the correct directory with correct 
permissions.  Is there an error in the im-gnucharmap.so file?  That's 
what I guessed from the output but that is just a guess.
