problems running garnome-0.22.0

Hello:
I am running RedHat 8.0 server, and wanted to upgrade my gnome to 2.2.

I downloaded garnome-0.22.0 and unpacked it as root.
Then as root, I ran the Makefile under the garnome-0.22.0/gnome directory.

All seemed to go well until the very end of the installation when I got the
following error messages:

tk+-2.2.1 =====]
 [fetch] complete for gtk+.
 [checksum] complete for gtk+.
 [extract] complete for gtk+.
 [patch] complete for gtk+.
 [configure] complete for gtk+.
 [build] complete for gtk+.
/bin/sh: line 1: /root/garnome/etc/gtk-2.0/gdk-pixbuf.loaders: No such file
or directory
make[2]: *** [post-install] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/garnome-0.22.0/gnome/gtk+'
make[1]: *** [../../gnome/gtk+/cookies/main.d/install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/garnome-0.22.0/gnome/zenity'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need to get gnome installed
with gnopernicus ASAP.
Cheers,

Donald Raikes
