gnome-system-monitor build problem

Hi,
when building gnome2 using garnome on linux-mips (debian woody) I get:

~/build-gnome2/garnome-0.10.0/gnome/gnome-system-monitor/work/gnome-system-monitor-1.1.6/src$ gcc -I/home/agx/garnome/include -g -O2 -I/home/agx/garnome/include -g -O2
+-L/home/agx/garnome/lib -L/home/agx/garnome/lib -o gnome-system-monitor procman.o interface.o callbacks.o load-graph.o proctable.o prettytable.o util.o infoview.o
+procactions.o procdialogs.o memmaps.o favorites.o -L/home/agx/garnome/lib -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/home/agx/garnome/lib -lgnomeui-2 -lSM -lICE -lbonoboui-2 -lgnomecanvas-2
+-lgnome-2 -lart_lgpl_2 -lpangoft2-1.0 -lbonobo-2 -lgnomevfs-2 -lbonobo-activation -lxml2 -lz -lgconf-2 -lORBit-2 -llinc -lgthread-2.0 -lpthread -lgtop-2.0
+-lgtop_sysdeps-2.0 -lgtop_common-2.0 -lwnck-1 -lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgdk-x11-2.0 -latk-1.0 -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lm -lpangox-1.0 -lpangoxft-1.0 -lpango-1.0 -lgobject-2.0
+-lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lglib-2.0 -lX11
/home/agx/garnome/lib/libgtop_common-2.0.so: undefined reference to `XauGetAuthByAddr'

This is caused by the fact that libXau is only available as archive but not as shared object:
ls /usr/X11R6/lib/libXau* gives /usr/X11R6/lib/libXau.a.
so it has to be explicitly appended during linkage. When adding -lXau to the
above build line it works. Does this show on other architectures as well?
