I built Garnome today.
It's refreshing to see everything work and install fine
first attempt.
This is working out great and i love G 2 : ) 

Ok  for the benifit of other users of RH 7.2 
id like to point out that the method used to start G2 ( Garnome ) 
is very similar to what's written .

What i did was this.
vi .bashrc
i added this  

# User specific aliases and functions
PATH=$HOME/garnome/bin:$PATH
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$HOME/garnome/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
                GDK_USE_XFT=1
export PATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH GDK_USE_XFT

then  
since the file didnt  exist i created  
vi .xinitrc
and  pasted in
$HOME/garnome/bin/gnome-session

as the only  line in the file.
Last i got into /etc/inittab
and i setted it for runlevel 3 

I rebooted at that time.


I logged in as usual at the console then issued  startx and  bingo

G2 was up and running.
